In an age of rush and noise it is essential that we find time to be still and quiet
AN INVITATION TO ATTEND A CHRISTIAN MEDITATION GROUP
Christian Meditation has been a weekly practice at St John’s since early 2003.
The World Community for Christian Meditation leads a world-wide ecumenical practice and our group comprises members from the Roman Catholic, Church of Christ, Uniting and Anglican traditions.
CHRISTIAN MEDITATION
is as old as Christianity and brings joy and peace to those who practice it. Christian meditation communities around the world follow the ancient form of contemplative prayer that seeks God in the silence and stillness, beyond word or thought. As the Psalmist advises: "Be still and know that I am God" Ps 46:10.
Come and listen to the “Still small voice of calm” at the centre of your being
LENTEN SACRIFICE
In this coming Lenten period we are encouraged to consider adding a spiritual practice to your day as an alternative to giving up something. The sacrifice of time morning and evening, consecrating time by the discipline of prayer, will become a true sacrifice as an act of love; the awakening of attention to the true centre of reality that is the prayer of Christ within us.
We welcome all interested people, practitioners and newcomers.
For further information phone Janet Sorby on 9810 7449 or 0418 964 563 Or Elissa Buttsworth on 0418 494 414
